A free initial interview. This interview is simply for us to get to know each other a little and see if I am a good fit for what you are looking for. You are under no obligation to hire me.
1-2 additional prenatal visits. These can be in your own home or wherever you feel comfortable. During these times we will discuss your desires for your birth, your options and common procedures.
Birth plan preparation. Using a worksheet that I will provide, we will discuss the risks and benefits of many routine procedures and interventions. I will then assist you in preparing a birth plan that is right for your family.
Labor support. Beginning in early labor, whether at home or hospital, I will provide continuous, uninterrupted support for you and your partner through labor, delivery and up to 2 hours postpartum. I can aid in positioning for comfort and progress of labor as well as provide massage and other pain relief measures. My aim is to encourage fathers to be as involved in labor as they are comfortable being.
Breastfeeding support. I am not a lactation specialist. I do, however, have knowledge and experience that I would love to pass on to you to facilitate breastfeeding.
Postpartum visit. I will come to see you at the hospital and/or at home. During this visit we will discuss your birth, I will try to answer any questions or concerns you may have, and of course I will ooh and aah over baby.
Birth story. If you desire, I will be happy to provide you with a written story of your birth and present it to you at the postpartum visit.
